From: Sue Taylor
Subject: [Ferguson] Ferguson Roll Call
This is my (Yorkshire/Durham-England) Ferguson connection:
GG GM Isabella Ferguson bc 1813 Long Newton, Stockton, Durham
- died 1853 aged 40 (Lovesome Hill) Hutton Bonville, (Near Northallerton), North
Yorkshire - married 22 Jan 1838 Acklam, Stockton, to John TAYLOR bc 1810 Hutton
Bonville,
North Yorkshire (or Brighton, Sussex?). Isabella's father was Robert Ferguson
labourer in
1853 when Isabella married John TAYLOR.
On the IGI I have found a Robert Ferguson b 21 Jun 1786 Long Newton, Durham to a
John &
Margaret Ferguson. Also a Robert Ferguson who married Mary PEARSON 22 Aug 1802
Long
Newton, Durham. This couple had a son Robert Ferguson b 7 Jan 1805, Long Newton,
Durham -
maybe this Robert is Isabella's brother, and Robert and Mary are her
parents?????
Any information or suggestions gratefully received as I am bouncing off
brickwalls trying
to research my TAYLOR family.
Regards - Sue from Shropshire, England.

"Hi Listers,"
Has anyone any idea what a 'Cerdwainer' is. I have just received a copy
of a death certificate for my GG GM Isabella TAYLOR (nee Ferguson) d.22nd
"Jan 1853, Hutton Bonville, Brompton. Isabella's occupation was listed as"
'Cerdwainer'. I have checked Genuki & found 'Cardmaker' a person who
makes cards or instruments for combing wool - confirmation or any
ideas/suggestions gratefully received.
"Regards Sue, Shropshire."
