Don't feel bad Jean your not the only one that is having trouble finding
a John Ferguson. My John Ferguson was born about 1780 in Va. and died on
March 29, 1840 in Gasconade County Mo. He married Nancy Smith on Nov.
30, 1809 in Nelson County VA. I can't go back any farther then this.
We only know that his mother's name is Jane Smith. He and Nancy had 12
children that I know of. One of which was named after his Mother Jane
Smith Ferguson. I descend from John's son James Parson Ferguson.
I would love to find out who John's father was.
Gary,
I have Ferguson's from Nelson county VA. I'm not sure if my John was
born there in Nelson county but I do know that he married a Nancy Smith
in Nelson County. My John's mother was Jane Smith. My John was born in
1780. He and Nancy were married on Nov. 30, 1809 in Nelson County VA.
And they had 12 children. If you could find something on them and
possably find out who my John's father was it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandi

Does anyone know anything about the John or the will that a John
Ferguson wrote in Frederick county VA. in 1804. I think it was said to
be on a page # 114 but I do not know in what book, only the page number.
Any help Appreciated
I'm looking for a copy of the 1820 Amherst VA. Census. It is said that
my John Ferguson is listed on the census record. Is there anyone has a
copy of it or can get a copy of it. I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Hi all
I was wondering, back in the 1800 when a will was drawn up who all got a
copy of it. Im in search of the will of my ggggrandfather John Ferguson
. I know who was the exector of the will when he died in 1840, it was
his son-in-law Charles Phelps. But wehere do I start looking for it or
is it a lost cause. Would there be a copy in the cort house of the
county that it was written in or the one where it was read or what????
Thanks in advance to anyone that could help me with this information.
I looked on the Ferguson page and it was not listed there.
Ok for Deed books, I am very new to this look up stuff. Do you have to
most of your looking up research in the county that the people lived or
can you get this stuff in public liabrarys that have a genealogy
section???

Most of my Ferguson's came from Mo. They were first in VA then moved to
MO around 1823 or 1824. Then on to TX. I would be glad to exchange any
info with you.

Patti,
You do have that Segus did also later marry a William B. Nunnnelly,
about 1840 and that they had a son or he did from a previous marrage?
