He is believed to have come to Michigan from New York State, and was employed earlier by the New York Central Railroad. He had at least 2 children: Alice Ferguson (b.May 10, 1884; d.1931) who attended Olivet College, Olivet, MI; and Charles Ferguson who attended Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, MI. Alice was first married to Adam ELLIOTT of Leicester, NY. They may have lived near Orangeville, a village between Kalamazoo and Hastings, MI. 2 children resulted from this union: Alice May and Walter. She was married (2) to Richard TWAY who may have been from Chicago, IL. One child came from this marriage: Grace Opal (1887-1976). A third marriage was to a VAN ALSTINE of NY. No other details.
