Anyhow, our elusive ancestor
was a Ferg in KY....We have family
tradition that says
ours went to KY from PA,
but that is only history passed down without
any definite
basis in fact, as far as
we know. Our oldest (known) FergusonS are
Thomas and Mary (UNKNOWN),
who gave birth to William Scott Ferguson,
"1798, Kentucky".
William d. 1868, OH.
Apparently Thomas and Mary
moved, with several children, to (probably)
Franklin, Co.,
Ohio, sometime between 1810-1830.
We have NO indication where, in
Kentucky, they
had been living. Thomas
and Mary are buried in the Chenoweth Cemetery,
in Franklin
county, OH. He died
1828, and she in 1848. Their son, William, d. 1868,
and is also
buried in Chenoweth Cem.
Wm. was m. Zelah JAMISON, 1829, Madison Co.,
OH.
Looking at Debbie's data,
we are wondering if our Thomas may just
possibly (too much
to hope) have been a brother
to Isaac. The ages would fit, and a
possible common PA
source would work too.
Sure hope this "clicks" for
someone. Many of us have looked for our
link back to KY
for several years, but have
hit a dead end. Simply too many "Thomas"
and "William"
Fergusons in KY then.
However we have had some other of the "given"
names show up
later..."Isaac", "Mary",
"James", "Sarah", for instance...
Glad to be aboard the Ferg-L...
