Hello,
I am searching for Fergusons in Dunbarton, Argyll, Ayr and Renfrew.
The earliest record I have is of a James Ferguson who married to Elizabeth McAuslane in 1787 in Bonhill, Dunbarton. Family legend has it that they were originally from Argyll. Later, James and Elizabeth moved to Ayr, Renfrew and lastly to Bolton le Moors, Lancs.

I am searching for James Ferguson born prob. 1763 in Scotland. Married to Elizabeth Mc Auslane in Bonhill, Dumbarton. Had the following issue: John and James, both baptised 1789, Catherine, Elizabeth, James (these two last bapt. in Muirkirk), Margaret and Fergus (baptised in Houston and Killellan, Renfrewshire).
