My line of Fergusons descend from Ollie A Ferguson who settled in East
Texas
in the mid 1820's
Ollie A Ferguson b. abt 1800 in GA. and Drucilla Cook, b. 1803 in GA, were
married in Franklin co. MS on 26 March, 1820.
Ollie applied for a Spanish land grant in Ayish Bayou, TX on 10 Mar 1827.
He
subsequently settled in what is now Sabine co. TX. Sabine co. census
records
list their children as:
Roland, b. 1822 in LA
Milbury
William, b. 1827 in TX
James, b. 1829 in TX
Alexander
I only have records for descendants of Roland who married Mahuldah Latham
from
Arkansas. Roland's children, probably born in Sabine co. were:
James E. b. 1844
Tennicoke A. b. 1845
Nancy A. b. 1846
Green B. b. 1849
Gram B. b 1849 (Green and Gram were twins)
My line of Fergusons runs through James who served during the Civil War
with
the 21st Texas Infantry which was disbanded May 1865 in the Galveston area.
James was quite mobile after the war. He married Hannah Low from
Sabine co.
in 1867. They had their first child Emma, in 1868 in Orange co. TX.
Their
second, Anna in Sabine co. in 1874, and their third, Hanna, in Mason co.
James' descendants remained in the Mason co. area until the 1950's.
I have additional information on most of these Fergusons which I would
be more
than glad to share.
Thanks to all who make these list possible.
