son of ALSTON JOSEPH Ferguson (1823 Kaskaskia IL - 1867 Erath Co? TX) m
Sarah Carolina Smith 1847.  He was given a Harrison Co TX land grant by
Anson Jones, President of Republic of TX 1846.

psbly son of JOSEPH FURGUSON b ~1788 TN or KY  d 1839 Harrison Co TX) & Jane
Gragg/Gregg (b1798 KY d 1874 or 1875 Harrison Co TX)

There were several Joseph Ferguson families listed as settlers of Texas,
many with children named Alstan/Alston/Aulston, etc.

Anyone have info on this line??  I have accumulated info on "unrelated"
lines, esp in early TEXAS 1840-1870 timeframe and will share any or all.
