I am descended from JOHN HAGERMAN and PHEOBE Ferguson. Both were born outside Canada in the early 1700s and came to Canada as United Empire Loyalists  about 1784. Prior to that they lived near Poughkeepsie,NY. It is possible that they were born outside the US. There are several lines of HAGERMANS in Canada and the connection has yet to be made between them
