Sandy:
My earliest Ferguson ancestor (that I know of)  is
Aaron Ferguson. He was born in 1785 in South Carolina and Died
Sept.30th. in Desoto Parish Louisiana. He married Patsy Calliham August
25,1809 in Adams County of Mississippi Territory. John Calliham father
of Patsy cave his permission for her to marry.
There were 8 Ferguson men listed on the 1820 Louisiana
census. John, Moses, Aaron, Samuel, Isham, and Ely (Eli) were listed in
East Baton Rouge Parish. James and Daniel were listed in St. Landry
Parish. Most researchers that I have contacted think all these men were
brothers. Daniel's 1st. wife was Hester (Eester) Peak. She died in 1824.
He married Elizabeth Clark in 1830.  She was killed in an accident 17
days after the marriage. At the time of the marriage he stated that he
was a native of South Carolina and was the son of Moses Ferguson and
Elizabeth Lively. As far as I know Daniel was born 1774 and died in
1840.  Dozens of researchers have tried for several decades to find any
record of this couple.
So by using the thought that all 8 of these Ferguson
men were brothers and with Daniel's statement we think all these 8
Ferguson men were also sons of Moses Ferguson and Elizabeth Lively.
I just thought someone on the list might be working on this Ferguson Family History.
I have a little info (their wives maiden names etc.) about all these 8 Ferguson men.
