From: "Dennis E. Ferguson" Hi, Thanks for your time and your work, I enjoy it very much! Dennis From: Dennis Ferguson Subject: [Ferguson] Sound Off - John R Ferguson, Juniata County, PA My research into my family has yielded these results: END OF DOCUMENTED DATA John R(obin?) Ferguson, born 7 July 1811 in Greenwood Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He married Lydia Ream on 14 June 1836, and died 7 June 1896 in the same area of gangrene. They had 10 children: Isaac (my gg-grandfather), Mary (Motter), Sarah (Haubert), Joseph, John J, Wesley W, Emma (Cox), Elizabeth J (Mendenhall), Andrew R, and Wilson. According to the 1880 Census, his mother was from New Jersey, and his father was from England UNCONFIRMED DATA In correspondence with Victoria Thompson, formerly of North Pole, Alaska, (if I can find her, it would be great hearing from her again!), John R may have been in the family of William and Anna Ferguson. Again, a large family; Bathshaba, Andrew, Elizabeth A, William Barklie, John Robin, Grant, Joseph Kinkead, Daniel, and William Wesley. Sounds like he lived in Juniata County around 1803, and also resided in Franklin County as well. He was Irish, born to Scots parents, and immigrated in Baltimore, MD. An interesting side note, in a book of early land surveys in Juniata County archives, there is an 1807 survey of two tracts of land to the heirs of Jos. Ferguson in right of Ferguson v. Leech c. which could be the survey for William's farm, and may give us his Scottish father's name as well (Joseph?). Anyone interested in what I have, or who can add, I'd greatly appreciate it!
