       John P Ferguson b Apr 28, 1828 Jefferson Co., NY
his wife was Sarah C Snyder b Jun 24, 1837 Wayne Co., NY

They lived in Mich. for awhile and then settled in Polk Co, Ia.
Their oldest two daughters Sarah A. and Francis L. were believed
to be born in St Clair Co. Mich. The rest of his children:
Hattie E., John E., Nettie, Charlie V., Lydia E., David B.,
Martha M., Arletta, and Merrit S. were born in Polk Co. and
Story Co., Ia.

   His parents are believed to be Samuel Ferguson and Nancy Vincent.
   It is believed that John lived in Ontario for some time and was then 
   found in the 1860 U.S. census in St. Clair Co. Mich. as John
   Furgerson age 31 with wife Sarah C. and two daughters (living next
door was
   Samuel Furgerson age 72).

    Arabetta E. b ca 1859 St. Clair Co., Mich.
    Francis L.  b 1862 St. Clair Co., Mich.

He was found in the 1860 U.S. census in St. Clair Co. Mich. as John

About 1872 John P and family moved to Polk Co. Iowa.
