Hi Jean.  Don't be jealous about "all" of us find Ferguson family information
for the 1700's, etc.  I haven't found "one" bit of information about my 1700's
Fergusons in NY
from this newsletter.

Hi.  Gilbert Ferguson was the son of John Ferguson and Aeltje Cronkhite, and
the brother of Abraham and Francis.

Hi Kathy.  Gilbert's parents, John and Aeltje Cronkhite were married in the
RDC in Beekman, Dutchess county, NY in 1760.  Gilbert migrated to Fulton, then
Montgomery county.  He then moved to Ohio.  I'm interested in that line
because I'm trying to "prove" that my 4-ggrandfather, John b 1765, was
Gilbert's brother.

Hi Kathy.  Sorry that I don't have more info on Gilbert, but he is not my
direct line -- but there are visitors to this site that have Gilbert in their
pedigree.  I hope they'll share their info with you.

Hi Dawn.  That's where I'm stuck.  I just haven't been able to find a record
of John's birth or marriage.  His youngest son, Abraham, lived well into his
90's and I was able to get a copy of his DC from NY State.  The DC said that
his father was born in Saratoga -- which would make sense.  A lot of Fergusons
(must have been relatives), migrated from Dutchess county.  I "assume" that
Abraham meant the town of Saratoga (I don't believe there was a Saratoga
county at the time of John's birth).

It's a "guess" but I'd think John was the brother of Abraham, Gilbert and
Francis, but haven't found any evidence.  A, G and Francis were baptized in
the Presbyterian church at, I think, Rombout.
