Boyd Ferguson wrote-"I believe he was born in Ohio, at least, he came from
Ohio to Wisconsin and he lived on a small farm near Gillingham, Wisc for
quite a number of years. He was a sort of "would be" doctor. I believe
he never studied medicine but just picked up a few facts. He prescribed
a liniment and called it "Ferguson Liniment". I still have the prescription.
It is as follows: 1 oz.oil aragamen 1 oz.oil sassafras 1 1/2 oz.oil ammonia
2 oz.oil hemlock 1 1/2 oz.oil gum camphor 1 oz. wormwood 1 pt. alcohol
"When I was young my father would make me sit between his legs while he
rubbed that liniment on my throat." "For some reason I do not know my father
was never fond of his father but adored his mother."
He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" Barrett about 1832. Elizabeth

Boyd Ferguson wrote-"She was a terror. Loved to quarrel. She lived at our
home for several years before she died. She would threaten to hit my father
with her cane. Often times he would fill his plate and go out under the
shade trees and eat- she kept up her constant quarreling. She was a Catholic
prior to her marriage but Christopher won her away from that religion.

also knew if we did the kids in the neigh[bor]hood would ostracis me- but
the church waas never built."
