I am a decendant of Toliver Ferguson, b abt 1800 TN. I do not know anything about his parents-who they were or where they were from. Toliver married Catherine Winters in Rutherford Co, TN in 1821. He is not found on any of the TN census records, but Catherine is found on the 1850 census living in the household of their oldest son, Mansfield Ferguson (Davidson Co, TN). Family tradition is that Toliver may have left TN for Texas before 1850 (sons John R, James B and William were born between 1835-1850). Children of Toliver and Catherine Winters Ferguson: Mansfield (b 1824), Anderson (b 1826), Sara Elizabeth(b 1829); Caroline Eliza (b 1830-1832); Mary Ann (b 1830), John R (b abt 1835), James B (b abt 1840) and William (b before 1850).
