Sandy, I just took a look at the web site and it is fantastic. so comprehensive. i didn't see my family there...yet. my john ferguson came to toronto, canada from scotland (like so many other john fergusons) with his wife constance lauder ferguson around the time of the civil war (I think) they were from scotland, family lore says edinburgh. they eventually settled in oakville, canada while there son george and grandkids moved to staten island, ny in 1900. two other sons john and james stayed in oakville. they were all plasterers by profession. ill try to contribute as soon as i can get my notes together and look forward to the building of the site. thanks so much for all of your great work.

My Fergusons (John and Constance) came from Scotland and settled on a farm in the Oakville/Toronto Ontario area in the 1860/70's. They had three sons, George (b1867), John, and James. George married Eliza Martin and had two sons John (b1888) and Thomas (b1890) in Toronto. The farm was still in the family in 1949. I am trying to find where and when they came from Scotland.
