Nimrod Thank you so much for the reply. My mother told me little or nothing
about her side of the family other than brothers, mother, father, her
grandmother, and great grandmother. The rest I got from census records, books
and information that other persons shared. John's daughter Alta, (we assume
that to be her name as some descendants used that for a nickname) was spelled
many different ways and we would really like to know the real spelling of the
name. We assume the odd spellings were due to census takers not being able to
understand an odd name. I will share what I have on my line and really look
forward to hearing from all.

Subject: John L Ferguson
and son Nimrod

I have a John L Ferguson in my family file born December 15, 1790 in Virginia and
died April 10, 1851 in Pike County, Missouri. His children included one named
Nimrod.
Any
ideas or proof of where he connects?? His daughter Alta Ferguson married a John
Allison in Pike County, Missouri. Their daughter Sarah Elizabeth married John
Freels and was my great grandmother.
