I have quite a lot of info on the family of Zacharias Joseph Ferguson born
7/28/1851
in New York and died in ta train wreck at Bodcaw Arkansas on 7/1/1894. He lived
for
"a while in Jackson. TN but later moved to Pine Bluff, AR with the Cotton Belt
Railroad."
"He left a wife, Eliza Jane Tayor Ferguson and seven children."
I have been unable to determine who his parents were. Some of my cousins say his
father was Jerome or Joseph Ferguson but we have no proof. I do know Zach's
"father fought for the CSA in the war between the states and Zach, as a young
boy,"
"made bullets for the CSA in Birmingham, AL. Also they lived in Mobile, AL
during"
the war before moving to Jackson TN.
Zach parents came from Dublin in the early 1800's and were catholic.
Any help would be appreciated

My great grandfather Zacharias Joseph Ferguson b.7/28/1851 NY d.7/1/1894 AR
married Eliza Jane Taylor b.8/1/1856 TN d. 3/31/1931 LA. Both buried in Catholic
cemetery in Pine Bluff AR. They had 8 children and I have quite a lot of info on
Zach
and Eliza's family but cannot determine who Zach's parents were. We believe that
Zach's father was named Jerome Washington Ferguson but not sure. We do know
he lived in Mobile AL for awhile and fought for the south in the civil war. Also
beleive
that he had six or seven brothers and all came fron Ireland in early 1800's.
If anyone can help please contact me.

Looking for information on a Joseph or Jerome Ferguson, wife's name possibly Margaret. He was living in the Mobile area at time of the civil war. He fought for the south. He came from Dublin with six or seven brothers in early 1800's and lived for awhile in New York area before coming to Alabama. He had a cousin Katie Steber who was a catholic nun in Mobile.

Sandy,
I need some info. I have three or four possible names for old Zach's father listed in the CSA list of Fergusons. Is there anyway to find out any info on a civil war vet when all you have is a name and unit that he belonged too. It looks like a dead end to me.
On your earlier question, old Zach invented the first Hand Feed Tube Roller used in boilers. Whatever that is. Apparantly the device is still being used today to install flues in boilers.
Also there is a Cotton Belt Railroad Museum in Pine Bluff, AR that I plan to visit in the near future.
Thanks,
Rudy Caldwell

I'm trying to find my gg grandfather. I know he fought for the south in the civil war and his family lived in the Mobile area at that time. One of his children, my great grandfather was Zacharias Joseph Ferguson, b. 1851 in New York and died 1894 in Arkansas.
The civil war list of Fergusons list four possibilities if he was in an Alabama unit.
Ferguson, Joseph AL 23rd Inf Co A Capt
Ferguson, Joseph A. AL 3rd Res Co K
Ferguson, J H AL 40th Inf Co K
Ferguson, J W AL 22nd Inf Co A
Does anyone have any information on any of the above that would match with a son named Zacharias or Zach

looking for parents and siblings of Zacharias Joseph Ferguson born 1851 in New York and died in a train wreck in Arkansas in 1894. I know quite a lot about Zach's family but have been unable to go beyond that. I know his father fought for the south in the civil war and some family members think his fathers name was Joseph or Jerome.
