Subject: [FERGUSON-L] John James Ferguson of Pittsylvania Co, VA

Am looking for further information of a John James Ferguson, bc 1840 in

Augusta, GA who m. (1) Jane Walden, b c1844 in Randolph City, NC on 10 Jun

1866 in Pittsylvania Co, VA. He was the son of Wiley & Frances Ferguson.

He m. (2) a Martha F Abbott (15 May 1862 in Pittsylvania Co, VA-aft 27 Sep

1905) on 16 Dec 1888 in Pittsylvania Co, VA. 

He was divorced from Jane before he m. Martha.

Martha was my g g'father's sister so am anxious to find out more about John J.

Ferguson and if he & Martha had any children.

I happened to have a copy of Clement's book so checked these out myself. Alas,

they're are too early (1700's) whereas the Ferguson I am looking for was born

in 1843. His father was Wiley Ferguson which may help somewhat. 

John James Ferguson, son of Wiley & Frances Ferguson, aged 23 m. 10 Jun 1866

in Pittsylvania Co, VA to Jane (Walden) Hodges, aged 22. He divorced her and

m. Sarah F. Abbott on 16 Dec 1888. I need to find out John & Sarah's

descendants.  On his marriage license to Sarah, it says that he was born in

Augusta, GA but I have seen other reports where it says he was born in NC  so

this might be a request for VA-NC-GA Fergusons
