Bounty Land Applications

The following abstracts are taken from the court order books extant for various counties in 1779 and 1780.  At these sessions of the county court soldiers or their representatives proved their service in the French and Indian War in order to qualify for bounty land.  The date of the session appears at the end of each entry.

Chesterfield County

James Farguson enlisted 16 Jun 1757 in the VA Regiment under Col. Washington in Capt. Waggoner’s Company.  7 Apr 1780.
